DHAKA, June 16, 2018 (BSS) – Miscreants shot dead a union level leader of
the ruling Awami League (AL) in the capital’s Badda area on Friday afternoon.
The deceased was identified as Farhad Hossain, 50, general secretary of
Badda union of AL and a resident of the city’s Uttar Badda area.
Two criminals riding a motorcycle shot Farhad from a very close range
while he was coming out of a mosque near Alirmor Intersection after offering
Juma prayer around 1:45pm, sub inspector Omar Ali of Badda Police Station
told BSS on Saturday.
Farhad, who sustained bullet injuries in his head and chest, was rushed to
United Hospital where the attending doctors pronounced him dead, he also
said.
Filing of a case to this end is underway.
