Followers of Mirzarkhil, Shah Sufi Darvar Sharif celebrate Eid-ul-Fitr
CHATTOGRAM, June 15, 2018 (BSS)- Like in the past, the followers of Mirzakhil Darbar Sharif of Satkania and Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif of Chandanaish upazilas in the district today celebrated the holy Eid-ul-Fitr.
The followers of two religious centers in Chattogram usually celebrate their Eid-ul-Fitr festival every year maintaining the timing of Saudi Arabia and other Middle-Eastern Muslim countries.
The religious faction also started fasting of Ramadan in line with the timing of Saudi Arabia and other Muslim states in the Middle East.
A total of 56 Eid congregations at 51 villages of the district including two big ones at Mirzakhil Darbar Sharif in Satkania and Shah Sufi Darbar Sharif of Elahabad village in Chandanaish were held in the morning.
Several hundred followers of two religious centers in 51 villages under Patiya Chandanaish, Satkania, Anowara, Banshkhali, Sitakunda and Fatikchari upazilas in Chittagong, Chakoria upazila in Cox’s bazar and some other upazilas in Feni and Chandpur districts celebrated Eid-ul-Fitr festival with much enthusiasm.
District police and local sources said the Eid congregations and other social and religious rituals as parts of the festival in the localities were held peacefully.
