BCB selector Habibul Bashar’s mother passes away

DHAKA, March 28, 2020 (BSS) – Rizia Begum, mother of Kazi Habibul Bashar Sumon, a selector of Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and former skipper of the national cricket team, died at her residence in Kushtia town today at the age of 74.

“She (Rizia Begum) breathed her last around 1 pm due to old age complications,” a family source said.

She left behind five sons, two daughters as well as a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn her death.

Rizia Begum will be laid to eternal rest at Kushtia Municipality Graveyard after Maghrib prayers today following a namaz-e-janaza, the source said.

The Dhaka-based Cricketers’ Welfare Association, Madaripur (CWAM) and the Madaripur Cricket Clinic expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Rizia Begum.

Sumon is an adviser of the CWAM and a life time member of Madaripur Cricket Clinic.
