RMP’s security measures for Eid-ul-Fitr

RAJSHAHI, June 15, 2018 (BSS) – Tight security measures have been adopted in the city and its adjacent area centering the Eid-ul-Fitr, one of the largest religious festivals of the Muslims, to make the celebration a total success.

Rajshahi Metropolitan Police (RMP) have set up some closed-circuit television (CCTV) cameras at different strategic points to monitor the security measures arranged for the city dwellers.

According to sources with the RMP and district police, the additional security measures will be in force from the day before Eid to the next three days.

Suzayet Islam, commissioner-in-charge of RMP, told the newsmen that all the police stations and camps have already given instructions to ensure extra security measures at all the celebration points including the Eid congregations.

The RMP has imposed ban on explosion of crackers and explosives and carrying and possessing of any firearm and lethal weapons and other illegal devises on the occasion.

Besides deployment of additional forces, detective vigilance was intensified at all the busiest market points and shopping malls. All the entry points of the city like Katakhali, Nawdapara and Kasiadanga area were brought under tight security measures with strong vigilance and monitoring.

Necessary instructions were also given to search suspicious persons at any points during the celebration period. RMP Chief Islam said, “We will watch the movement of boarders of the residential hotels”.

On the other hand, RAB-5 has taken all-out security measures to make the festival a total success.

Meanwhile, Shahmukhdum Central Eid Jamaat Committee and the Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) and all others concerned have chalked out elaborate programmes to celebrate the holy Eid-ul-Fitr in the city with due fervor, joy and enthusiasm.
