RpMP spraying antibiotics using water cannon in Rangpur

RANGPUR, March 25, 2020 (BSS) – Rangpur Metropolitan Police (RpMP) today
began spraying of antibiotics using water cannon on the city streets with a
view to prevent the spread of coronavirus (COVID-19) in the metropolis.

For health security of the people, the RpMP started spraying bleaching
powder mixed with water and savlon as antibiotics using water cannon to
disinfect the streets and public places of the city free from coronavirus.

Beginning from Kachari Bazar, the operation was conducted on the streets in
different places, including City Bhaban, Supermarket, Paira Square, Jahaz
Company, Press Club, Grand Hotel, Shapla Square, Chicken Farm Mour and Lalbag
areas of the city.

Assistant Commissioner of RpMP (DB and Media) Md. Altab Hossain said using
of the water canon has made possible to spray vast areas from a significant
distance to keep the city free from the coronavirus.

“We’re planning to exchange views with the health and hygiene specialists
to consider the option of spraying detergent powder mixed with water, if
needed in the future, to prevent the spread of coronavirus in the city,” he
added.

Talking to BSS, Rangpur Metropolitan Police Commissioner Abdul Alim Mahmud
said spraying of antibiotics will continue on the streets and market and
public places in the city to prevent the spread of COVID-19 until the
situation becomes normal.
