DHAKA, June 14, 2018 (BSS) – Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar,
Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisting local cautionary signal
number three as the deep convection is continuing over North Bay and
adjoining coastal area of Bangladesh.

“The maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar, Mongla and Payra have been
advised to keep hoisting local cautionary signal number three for more 24
hours as monsoon is strong over North Bay. The ports would be asked to lower
the signal, if the sea condition improves,” Muhammad Arif Hossain, a
meteorologist at BMD, said.

Squally weather is likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and
adjoining coastal areas of the country, he said, adding that all fishing
boats and trawlers over North Bay have been advised to remain close to the
coast and proceed with caution.

They are also advised not to venture into the deep sea, he added.
