KHULNA, March 15, 2020 (BSS) – Farming of Boro paddy has been progressing fast in all nine upazilas of the district during the current season.
Officials of the Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE) are expecting bumper production of Boro rice this year as favorable weather condition is prevailing in the district.
The agro-scientists and experts are providing assistance and practical
knowledge, latest technologies and advices to the farmers to increase
production.
The government has fixed a target of producing over 2.73-lakh tonnes of
Boro rice from 60,915 hectares of land this season for the district, the DAE
sources said.
Of the total 38,060 hectares of land would be brought under hybrid
variety of Boro paddy, 22,805 hectares of land under high yielding variety
and 50 hectares of land under local variety of the paddy.
