Boro planting completed in Narsingdi

NASINGDI, March 15, 2020 (BSS) – The Boro paddy planting has been completed
in all the six upazilas of the district, exceeding the cultivation target
that creates hope to get more production.

The farmers have finally cultivated Boro paddy on 55319 hectares of land
against the target of 55300 hectors this season.

Department of Agriculture Extension (DAE) officials here said the farmers
have cultivated hybrid variety on 529 hectors of land, high yielding variety
on 54429 hectors and local variety on 350 hectors.

The crop fields now take deep greener eye-catching look everywhere as the
Boro plants are growing excellent.

The enthusiastic farmers have engaged in all-out efforts in making the
Boro paddy cultivation programme successful.

DAE Deputy Director here Shovah kumar Dhar told BSS that the Boro
cultivation has exceeded the target.

He said quality seeds, fertilizers, pesticide and agri-loans were provided
to the farmers for making the Boro cultivation programme successful.

He said if the climate condition remains favorable up to harvesting
period, the production target must be exceeded in the region.
