511 bottles of phensidyl recovered in C’nawabganj

CHAPAINAWABGANJ, June 12, 2018 (BSS)- Members of Border Guard Bangladesh
(BGB) recovered 511 bottles of contraband Indian phensidyl in two separate
drives at the early hours on Tuesday.

BGB sources said acting on secret information, a patrol team of BGB from
Masudpur border outpost raided the frontier Bedayetpur area under Shibganj
upazila in Chapainawabganj district at around 3:50 am chased a gang of 10/15
smugglers who were carrying bags on their heads.

Sensing their presence, the smugglers fled away leaving the bags. After
searching the bags the BGB found 320 bottles of phensidyl.

In a separate drive, another team of BGB from Monohorpur BOP raided
Tarapur Eidgah field area in Shibganj upazila of the district at around 4:40
am and chased a gang of smugglers but the smugglers fled away leaving their
bags.

BGB seized 191 bottles of phensidyl after searching the bags.

The recovered bottles of phensidyl were deposited to the Narcotics Control
Department.

While contacted, commanding officer of 9 battalion of BGB Lieutenant
Colonnel Sajjad Sarwar confirmed this.

On the other hand, as part of the anti-drug operation, members of Rapid
Action Battalion (RAB)-5 arrested 13 drug addicts in a number of drives on
Monday from morning till late night and imprisoned them on different terms
through mobile courts.
