Milad for Rahmat Ali held in city
DHAKA, March 2, 2020 (BSS)- A milad and doa mahfil was held after Asr prayers today in memory of Awami League Advisory Council Member and former State Minister for LGRD Advocate Rahmat Ali at a Sobhanbagh community center in the city.
Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury, Chief Whip Noor-E-Alam Chowdhury Liton, lawmakers Nahim Razzaq, Shamsun Nahar and Rahmat Ali’s daughter Rumana Ali, Gazipur Zilla Parishad Chairman Md Akhtaruzzaman, eminent lawyer Advocate Mamtaz Uddin Mehedi and journalist Ataur Rahman, among others, were present on the occasion.
On behalf of family members of Ali, his son scientist Prof Zahid Hasan Tapash sought prayer for his father from all.
Rahmat Ali, who was elected MP for five times from Sreepur area of Gazipur, died of old-age complications at a city hospital on February 16 last.
