Construction work of Inclusive Sanitation Complex begins in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Aug 11, 2017 (BSS) – The construction work of Inclusive Sanitation Complex started at Rawshanbag High School under Palashbari upazila in the district on Thursday amid much enthusiasm among students and teachers.

SKS Foundation, a non-government organisation, is constructing the complex under Wash in School Project with the financial support of Water Aid, said officials concerned.

Deputy Speaker of the Jatiya Sangshad Advocate Fazle Rabbi Miah formally inaugurated the construction work laying the foundation stone of the complex in the afternoon as the chief guest.

Speaking at the function, Fazle Rabbi Miah said the complex would help the students practice sanitation activities properly which is a must to build a better society and healthy nation as well.

He also thanked the authorities concerned for taking the initiative to construct such the complex for the students.

Later, the deputy speaker also planted a sapling of flower tree on the school ground. Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) M Tofazzal Hossain, Upazila Secondary Education Officer Abdur Rahman, Chairperson of school managing committee (SMC) Sardar M Shaahid Hasan Loton, head teacher Mostakim Billah, Assistant Director of SKS Foundation Khandkar Jahaid Sarwar, Project Manager Rezaul Haque Mondal, members of school committee as well as teachers were present on the occasion.

Project Manager Rezaul Haque Mondal said they were working at 62 academic institutions of the upazila to provide hand washing facilities to the students and make them aware of the necessity of sanitation.
