SANGSAD BHABAN, June 12, 2018 (BSS) – Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad
Nasim today said the government has finalized an act for producing skilled medical assistants
under a board.
“The government has finalized the Bangladesh Allied Health Professional Education Board Act-
2018 for operating the education of the health assistants under a time befitting education board,” said the minister.
The minister made this comment while replying to a query made by treasury bench lawmaker M Abdul Latif of Chattagram-11 at the Jatiya Sangsad Bhaban here this morning.
The draft act would be sent to the cabinet division for final approval, he added.
So far the Medical Assistant Training School (MATS) and Institute of Health Technology (IHT)
education programme are being run under the State Medical Faculty of Bangladesh.
