DINAJPUR, Aug 11, 2017 (BSS)-Police, in special drives from Thursday night to this morning, arrested 29 persons including four drug traders and recovered 300 bottles of Phensidyl syrup and 50,000 pieces of cow fattening tablets from seven upazilas of the district.
Police said they were picked up from different areas of the district.
During the drives, Dinajpur Sadar police arrested nine persons including three drug traders with 300 bottles of Phensidyl syrup, Khansama Thana police arrested two persons, Kaharole Thana police arrested six persons, Hakimpur Thana police arrested five accused, Birganj Thana police arrested four accused, Birampur Thana police arrested one person and Ghoraghat Thana police arrested two persons.
Meanwhile, members of Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) in a drive arrested drug trader Younus Ali with 50,000 pieces of cow fattening tablets from his house under Hakimpur upazila of the district.
Several cases, including charges of subversive activities, are pending with different police stations against the arrested persons, the sources added.
The arrested people were sent to jail.
