RAJSHAHI, June 12, 2018 (BSS)- Some 29 small women entrepreneurs were given Taka 13.83 lakh loan for improving their living and livelihood condition through boosting income-generating activities.
Local principal office (LPO) of Rajshahi Krishi Unnayan Bank (RAKUB) distributed the collateral-free loan under the Bangladesh Bank’s re-financing scheme on Monday.
All of the recipients are Taka 10 account-holding small businesswomen and entrepreneurs.
RAKUB Managing Director Kazi Alamgir was present at the distribution ceremony as chief guest.
General Managers Mozammel Haque and Khandaker Golam Mostofa, Deputy General Manager Jagannath Ghosh and LPO Assistant General Manager Shawkat Shahidul Islam were also present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Kazi Alamgir said entrepreneurship is a very important criterion for economic development and the role of women entrepreneurs cannot be ignored in this process.
There is a significant contribution of women entrepreneurs to the growth of developed communities. He also mentioned that women’s Initiative is a not-for-profit agency.
RAKUB’s mission is to build the entrepreneurial capacity of women to overcome economic and social barriers and achieve self-sufficiency.
