Eight projects work of Tk 2,240 cr progressing fast

JAMALPUR, Feb 18, 2020 (BSS) – Roads and Highways Division is implementing eight development projects worth of Taka 2240.69 crore in the district to expand road communication networks for smooth movement of people.

Executive Engineer of Jamalpur Roads and Highways Md Mostafizur Rahman
said the works of three project will be completed by June this year and the
rest five projects will be finished by June next year.

He said the works for widening and fortifying of 29.12 km Jamalpur –
Madarganj road is being constructed at a cost of Taka 128.45 crore. The
project will be completed by June this year.

Besides, Taka 291.04 crore is being spent for construction of 738 meter
railway overpass in the heart of Jamalpur town.

The construction work of Jamalpur-Dhanuakamalpur-Roumary (kurigram
district) road is also progressing. The 58 km road is being constructed at a
cost of Taka 335.65 crore.

A total of 16 km Jamalpur-Kalibari-Sarishabari road is being constructed
at a cost of Taka 219.66 crore. The project will be completed by June 2021.

Besides, the construction work of Jamalpur-Chechua-Muktagachha
(Mymensingh) road is also progressing at a cost of Taka 460.08 crore. The 38
km road will be completed by June 2021.
