Students must lead to build drug-free society: Menon

RANGPUR, Feb 16, 2020 (BSS) – Workers Party President Rashed Khan Menon MP, today said the students must take a leading role in order to keep the society free from drugs.

“The parents and teachers of the students should also come forward to create
a drug free society,” said Menon, also Chairman of the Parliamentary Standing
Committee on the Ministry of Social Welfare.

Menon said this while addressing a view-exchange meeting with teachers,
students and guardians held at Uttar Barovita Abdul Kuddus Mian Protibondhi
School in erstwhile Dashiarchhara enclave in Phulbari upazila of Kurigram as
chief guest.

Earlier, he visited Dashiarchhara Rashed Khan Menon College at the same
erstwhile enclave and also exchanged views with teachers, students and
guardians of the institution.

On his arrival, members of the governing bodies of the institutions
welcomed and greeted Menon with wreaths.

Headmaster of Uttar Barovita Abdul Kuddus Mian Protibondhi School Ariful
Islam presided over the views-exchange meeting held at the school auditorium.

Phulbari upazila Workers’ Party President Sohrab Hossain, Upazila Social
Services Officer Abdul Majid, former Upazila Muktijoddha Commander Mujibur
Rahman, former leader of enclave exchange committee Altaf Hossain, teacher of
the school Jahidul Haque also spoke on the occasion.
