DHAKA, Feb 16, 2020 (BSS) – Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) Chairman
Iqbal Mahmood today said legal action would be taken against the tax-dodgers.
“Alongside the National Board of Revenue (NBR), ACC would also identify
the tax-dodger to bring them under punitive measures,” he said while
addressing the opening ceremony of a training course as chief guest.
The special training was organized at BCS Tax Academy for ACC Officials on
income tax law.
Iqbal Mahmood said its true ACC does not work for tax collection but
performs duty to bring the tax-dodger under law after identifying them.
“We clearly declare that the tax-dodgers have to be brought under legal
measures and NBR’s cooperation is needed to this end. Coordinate initiative
could ensure punishment to the tax-dodgers,” he added.
With NBR Member (Tax Administration) Arifa Jahan in the chair, NBR Member
Md Alamgir Hossain, ACC Director General A K M Sohel and BCS Tax Academy
Director General Lutful Azim, among others, spoke on the occasion.
