Signal 3 to continue for maritime ports

DHAKA, June 11, 2018 (BSS) – Maritime ports of Chattogram, Cox’s Bazar,
Mongla and Payra have been advised to keep hoisting local cautionary signal
number three and all fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay have been
asked to remain in shelter till further notice.

However, the monsoon land depression over Feni and adjoining area moved to
north-northeastwards, weakened into a low and now lies over cumilla region of
Bangladesh and Tripura region of India, said a met office weather bulletin
here today.

It is likely to move to a north or northeasterly direction further inland.
Monsoon is strong over North Bay and deep convection is continuing over North
Bay and adjoining area, the bulletin said, adding that squally weather is
likely to affect the maritime ports, North Bay and adjoining coastal areas of
Bangladesh.
