DHAKA, Feb 9, 2020 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today came down heavily on Gono Forum President Dr Kamal Hossain saying that his offensive language against the government hurt the people and the politicians as well.

“Not only politicians, the people across the country also got hurt at the comments of Kamal Hossain. Ousting the government by giving a kick cannot be the language of politics,” he said while opening three repaired old bridges at Gazaria in Munshiganj district.

About the bail of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, Quader said she is not a political prisoner, so there is no scope to release her from jail politically.

If BNP carries out anarchy and arson attacks in the name of movement, their activities will be dealt with an iron hand, he said.

Old Kanchpur, Meghna and Gumti bridges were opened after repairing to ease vehicular movement on Dhaka-Chattogram highway.

Senior officials of the government and JICA officers were present on the occasion.
