PM mourns death of ex-MP Wazi Uddin Khan

DHAKA, Jan 31, 2020 (BSS) – Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina today expressed deep shock and sorrow at the death of Wazi Uddin Khan, former member of parliament (MP) and former president of Pabna district unit of Awami League (AL).

In a condolence message, the Premier said Wazi Uddin Khan was the follower of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s ideal until his death. At his death, Awami League lost a devoted leader, she added.

Sheikh Hasina prayed for eternal peace of his departed soul and conveyed profound sympathy to the bereaved family.

Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury also expressed deep shock at his death.

In a separate condolence message, the speaker said his contribution to the
Liberation War will ever be the recalled by the nation.

JS Deputy Speaker Md Fazle Rabbi Miah and Chief Whip Noor-e-Alam Chowdhury
also expressed profound shock at the death of Wazi Uddin Khan.

Awami League (AL) General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader also mourned his death.

Wazi Uddin Khan, ex-MP of Pabna-3 constituency, passed away this morning at his residence in Atua Housepara area in the Pabna city at the age of 84.
