Eid market gains momentum in Manikganj
MANIKGANJ, Jun 9, 2018 (BSS) – With only a week left for the holy Eid-ul-
Fitr, one of the biggest religions festivals of the Muslims, Eid shopping has
gained momentum in the district with modern and traditional shopping malls
bustling with shoppers from all strata.
All the city markets are seen busy selling their commodities to shoppers.
Customers are thronging the shopping centres from morning till midnight.
Market sources said the overall sale is much higher this year as the
economic condition of people has improved significantly.
Deployment of law enforcers at different market places and engagement of
private security men at shopping malls by the authority concerned have
ultimately created a fool-proof security arrangement for businessmen as well
as shoppers.
Most upper-class buyers are crowding different big shopping centers, while
the low-income group people are also seen purchasing their desired items from
the footpath shops in the city.
Talking to BSS, an elderly woman, Sufia Akter who came to shopping said
the narrow roads of the town remains busy during day time and we cannot enter
in the market for traffic jam, so we have come to market in late hours of
night for hassle free marketing.”
Manikganj district Police has already diverted the Shaheed Rafique Sarak,
the main road of the town into one way for avoiding traffic congestion.
The shopkeepers association of the district said, local district
administration have taken proper steps to control the law and order
situation.
