60 low-income group women get awareness training in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Jan 29, 2020 (BSS)- Some 60 women and adolescent girls from low-income group families are being imparted training on various social and health issues for raising their awareness on the issues.

Rajshahi Zila Parishad has been organizing the training to mark the Mujib
Barsha, birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman .

Women working in hotel and restaurant and wife and children of rickshaw and van pullers are taking part in the training on food and nutrition, self-employment, prevention of violence and repression against women and children and resistance of child marriage.

Zila Parishad Chairman Muhammad Ali Sarker today formally opened the
training held at the parishad hall room as chief guest with its Chief
Executive Officer Ahsan Habib in the chair.

Additional Commissioner of Rajshahi division Dr Abdul Mannan, Judge of
Tribunal against Women and Children Repression Monsur Alam, Deputy
Commissioner Hamidul Haque, Dr Nargish Shamima, Dr Monwar Taruque, Dr Subrata
Kumar Pramanik from Rajshahi Medical College and Hospital and Deputy Director
of the Local Government Division Dr Chitralekha Naznin also spoke as resource
persons.

The speakers said the society can be freed from many problems and crimes
like violence against women and children through creating awareness among the
community people.

They advocated for arranging more such type of training to attain the goal
of ensuring sound health and environment for the low-income group people for
improving their living and livelihood condition .
