Dhaka, June 9, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD)
today predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall over Barishal and Chattogram
divisions in the next 24 hours ending at 4 pm tomorrow.
“Due to well-marked low over the North Bay and adjoining area, deep
convection is taking place over the North Bay and its adjoining coastal area
of Bangladesh,” said a Met office warning message this afternoon.
Under its influence, heavy (44-88mm) to very heavy (>89mm) rainfall with
gusty or squally wind is likely to occur over Barishal and Chattogram
divisions during the next 24 hours commencing from 4 pm today, the message
said.
Due to very heavy rainfall, landslides may occur at some places over the
hilly regions in Chattogram Division.
