Govt’s election pledges top priority to dev plan: Cabinet sec

DHAKA, Jan 25, 2020 (BSS) – Cabinet Secretary Khandker Anwarul Islam today said the election pledges of the government will get top priority to the development plans.

He stated this while addressing a workshop on ‘enriching and implementing the outcomes of a research’ conducted by Rural Development Academy (RDA), Bagura, on “Amar Gram-Amar Shohor” (My Village-My Town) at the CIRDAP auditorium here, said a press release.

RDA Director General Md Aminul Islam presented a keynote paper on the ways of implementing the suggestions revealed from the research on “Amar Gram-Amar Shohor”.

Aminul said living standard of rural people would be changed and poverty would be eliminated if the government’s pledges of transforming villages into towns and “Vision-2021” and “Vision-2041” is implemented.

Cabinet Secretary Anwarul Islam said necessary steps would be taken as per the result of the research after discussion with the concerned ministries and departments.

Rural Development and Co-operatives Division Secretary Md Rezaul Ahsan presided over the workshop while Social Welfare Secretary Md Jaynul Bari, Planning Division Secretary Md Nurul Amin and Posts and Telecommunications Division Secretary Md Nur-Ur-Rahman spoke as special guests.

Later, a video was screened on the “Amar Gram-Amar Shohor” in the programme.

The RDA, Bagura, formulated research reports on 17 topics aimed at helping the government implement the “Amar Gram-Amar Shohor” project.
