2-day innovation showcasing begins in Rajshahi

RAJSHAHI, Jan 23, 2020 (BSS) – A two-day ‘Innovation Showcasing-2020’ began today at Rajshahi College auditorium to make public service popular among people.

Ministry of Public Administration and Commissioner Office of Rajshahi
division jointly organised the divisional level event in order to attain the
cherished goal through showcasing the present field level best innovative
initiatives.

District and upazila level offices and institutions from all eight
districts in the division set up 24 stalls showcasing various information and
documents related to public service delivery and necessary process of getting
those easily after the best uses of information and communication
technologies.

Senior Secretary to Information and Communication Technology (ICT)
division NM Ziaul Alam addressed the opening session as the chief guest with
Commissioner of Rajshahi division Humayun Kabir Khandaker in the chair.

Additional Secretary to the Ministry of Public Administration Mujibur
Rahman and its Deputy Secretary Dr Muhammad Hossain, Deputy Commissioner
Hamidul Haque and Principal of Rajshahi College Professor Habibur Rahman also
spoke on the occasion.

In his welcome speech, Additional Divisional Commissioner Moyeenul Islam
discussed objectives of the innovation showcasing, successes already achieved
in implementation of a2i Programme and Vision 2021 to attain sustainable
development goals for further speeding up national development.

In his remarks, Ziaul Alam said the present government under the dynamic
leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been working relentlessly for
simplifying all the service delivery activities for welfare the public in
general.

He said the government is now setting up 28 IT parks in the country
including one in Rajshahi which will create jobs for three lakh youths by
2021.

The chief guest said digitization is progressing encouragingly to achieve
the esteemed successes of building a digital Bangladesh where people would
easily get all services at their doorsteps.

He urged the field level administrative officials to work with innovative
ideas to build a middle income country by 2021 and developed country by 2041.

Ziaul Alam urged the upazila and district level service delivery officials
and employees to deliver public services through the best uses of ICT and
innovative ideas.
