8 firms take CV of 750 trained youths from job fair in Gaibandha

GAIBANDHA, Jan 22, 2020 (BSS) – Some eight firms of the country took curriculum vitae (CV) of 750 trained youths from a job fair held on the premises of Gaibandha Technical Training Center (GTTC) here on Tuesday to provide jobs to them depending on their skills.

GTTC and SHOUHARDO III Program of CARE Bangladesh jointly arranged the
fair aimed at creating linkage between the job seekers and the officials of
the firms, sources said.

A discussion meeting entitled “Linking Potential Employment to the
Skilled Youths” was also held on the campus of GTTC with its principal Atiqur
Rahman in the chair.

Deputy commissioner (DC) Abdul Matin addressed the function as the chief
guest and superintendent of police (SP) Muhammad Towhidul Islam, principal of
Rangpur TTC Lutfar Rahman, chief of party, SHOUHARDO III program, CARE
Bangladesh Ishrat Shabnam and president of Gaibandha Chamber of Commerce and
Industry freedom fighter Maksudar Rahman Sahan also spoke at the event as the
special guests.

Moderated by Shikha Biswas, senior technical coordinator of CARE
SHOUHARDO program, the function was also addressed, among others, by general
manager of Standard Groups Ashraful Islam, assistant manager of PRAN RFL
Group Dhaka Pallab Moulick and job applicant Faruqul Islam.

The officials of the companies said the appointment letters against the
selected candidates would be issued very immediately and they would be asked
to join the jobs very soon.

DC Abdul Matin inspired the youths saying that the prominent persons of
the country and the world like former Bangladesh Bank governor Ataur Rahman
and Indian president APJ Abul Kalam Azad who were born in the poor families,
had been established in their respective career through facing painful and
troublesome situation.

The DC also urged the job seekers to be more serious and punctual in
serving their professional duties with honesty and sincerity to earn
economical profit from the professional works in a bid to change their socio-
economic condition gradually and take the district ahead as well.

The DC also thanked the officials of the PRAN RFL, Standard Groups,
Cementech, Nittoy Karuponno, Nahid Cotton Mills, Annex Textiles, Partex Group
and BGMEA of the country for participating in the job fair and giving their
commitment to provide jobs to the skilled youths who submitted their CV with
a hope to getting jobs.

Earlier, regional coordinator of CARE SHOUHARDO program Sajeda Begum
said SHOUHARDO III program funded by United States Agency for International
Development with complementary funding from the government of Bangladesh is
being implemented by SKS Foundation at Sundarganj, Shaghata and Fulchhari
upazilas of the district here from January 2016.

Assistant director of SKS Foundation Khandakar Zahid Sarwar Sohel said
the job seekers were imparted need base training on various trades including
welding, driving, auto-mobile, electric house wearing, mobile servicing,
tailoring, garments, beautification, motorcycle mechanics, block buttick and
electronics from the GTTC, BITAC Bogura and local entrepreneurs at the
arrangement of the program.
