DHAKA, Jan 19, 2020 (BSS) – Awami League General Secretary and Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader today said BNP is trying to make the election questionable sensing their imminent defeat in the upcoming Dhaka south and north city corporations’ polls.

He said this while replying to a question of journalists at a press conference at the Road Transport and Highways Division conference room.

Earlier, a Thai delegation led by the country’s Ambassador to Bangladesh Arunrung Phothong Humphreys paid a courtesy call on him at his office at the secretariat.

Asked about BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir’s allegation that the government is using the Election Commission, Quader said such behavior of BNP made it clear that they are taking part in the polls not to win it rather to make the polls questionable and controversial.

“BNP is criticizing the EC, use of EVM and the role of the government to make the polls controversial and questionable,” he said.
