SSC exams shifted to Feb 3

DHAKA, Jan 18, 2020 (BSS) – The Secondary School Certificate (SSC) and its equivalent examinations under all education boards have been shifted to February 3.

The date of beginning the examinations was earlier scheduled for February 1.

“The examinations have been shifted for the sake of Dhaka south and north city corporations’ polls that have been rescheduled for February 1 from January 30,” Education Minister Dr Dipu Moni told a press conference at her city’s official residence this evening.

She said the Election Commission (EC) wanted to know whether there would be any problem if the exams date is shifted from February 1 to any other date as the EC was set to reschedule the voting date for the two city corporations polls that coincided Saraswati Puja.

“As the polls and the Saraswati Puja take place at educational institutions, we consider re-setting the exams,” the minister added.

Earlier, Deputy Minister for Education Mohibul Hassan Chowdhury said that the SSC and its equivalent examinations under all education boards will now begin from February 3.

Detailed information about the exam schedule will be disclosed soon, he said.
