Khulna People hail proposed budget

KHULNA, June 8, 2018 (BSS) – Educationists, entrepreneurs and leaders of
different socio-cultural organisations and political parties today hailed the
proposed budget for the fiscal 2018-2019 terming it as a pragmatic and
development-oriented.

This budget is a step towards turning the country into a middle-income one by
2021 and develop country by 2041, they commented.

In a reaction General Secretary of Khulna Development Action Coordination
Committee (GKDACC) Sheikh Ashrafuzzaman termed the proposed budget for fiscal
2018-2019 as a business, investment-friendly and highly ambitious one.

“There are a lot of new programmes, incorporated in the budget to cope with
the present tougher economic situation and industrialization”, he added.

President of Shacheton Nagarik Committee (SANAK) educationist Professor
Anwarul Kadir termed the proposed budget for the fiscal year 2018-19 as
highly ambitious, development oriented, political and election budget which
would create opportunities for businessmen and private sectors.

He also thanked the government for increasing social safety net for the
people of rural areas, rootless and landless people of the city.

Hailing the proposed budget, Khulna Awami League leaders in a statement said
the pro-people budget would play a significant role to boost up the economy,
poverty alleviation, improvement of quality education, empowerment of women
establishing a Digital Bangladesh.

Among Others, Awami League leaders Begum Monnuzan Sufia MP, Newly-elect KCC
Mayor Talukder Abdul Khaleque, Khulna Zila Parishad Chairman Sheikh Harun-ur-
Rashid, S M Mostofa Rashidi Suja MP and Mizanur Rahman Mizan MP signed the
statement.
