JS passes private members’ resolution to set up TTC

SANGSAD BHABAN, Jan 16, 2020 (BSS) – A private members’ resolution along with four amendments was passed in the Jatiya Sangsad (JS) today to set up a Technical Training Center (TTC) at Shibganj Upazila in Chapai Nawabganj district.

Treasury bench lawmaker Dr Samil Uddin Ahmed Shimul moved the resolution in the House with a view to making the country’s huge number of population skilled and helping earn more foreign remittance by sending them abroad, while it was unanimously passed by voice votes with Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury in the chair.

Earlier, Expatriates’ Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Imran Ahmad accepted the resolution along with four amendments from treasury bench lawmaker Md Shahiduzzaman Sarker to set up two TTCs at Patnitala and Dhamoirhat upazilas in Naogaon district while Jatiya Party lawmakers Rawshan Ara Mannan for a TTC in Kaptan Bazar area in Cumilla and Md Mujibul Haque for a TTC at Tarail Upazila in Kishoreganj and treasury bench lawmaker Md Habibar Rahman for a TTC at the middle point of Sherpur and Dhunat area in Bagura.

Imran Ahmad, while accepting the resolution, informed the House that the process is underway to set up TTCs at every upazila across the country while the government has already set up the TTCs in the 64 district across the country.
