DHAKA, Aug 7, 2017 (BSS) – The relentless negotiation between the ACB and the ACA resulted in a ground breaking success as a consensus was reached recently whereby the Australian players of all tiers regardless of any gender stood to gain financially albeit substantially.
Former National team’s opening batsman Ishtiaque Ahmed stylishly shares his view with BSS on Sunday regarding the whole episode in a masterly manner.
In the beginning Ishtiaque explain clearly what happened in the recently held Australian cricket turmoil.
“A very logical and feasible demand was made by the players wherein the ACB are to share their revenues amongst the players particularly those from the grass roots who would also stand to gain.
It is indeed a phenomenal achievement by Steve Smith, David Warner and co: that have paved the way for more lucrative and financially rewarding days for Australian cricket. As a whole since it is the Australians who have been dominating international cricket for so many decades during which they have gone on to win four world cups and have been the number one test side in the world for many years as well.
Waiting in agonizing anticipation the Bangladesh cricket Board and the massive cricket fans must have heaved a sigh of relief after the negotiation was reached thereby leaving no doubt in anybody’s mind as the series looked set to go ahead.
None of the present Bangladeshi players have the experience of playing against the Aussies and would no doubt be keen to show case their skills against the toughest side in the world.
While the Aussies have Steve Smith and David Warner as two of the top five batsmen in world cricket it is actually the Bangladeshi side who’ve had greater experience in international cricket led Mushfiqur Rahim and co; and therefore pose an enthralling prospect for a humdinger of a series.
There is no doubt that the Bangladeshi think tank would be considering the prospects of slow turners instead of wickets that would offer assistance to the Aussie pacers and according to the coach have eyes set on a series victory.
Such is the confidence of the side that the recent performances in test cricket and their victories against England at home and Sri Lanka in the recent past have put Bangladesh at par with the Aussies in terms of ability and prospects.
There is no doubt that Herculean individual performances by the Bangladeshi stalwarts like Shakib, Mushfiq, Tamim and Mahmudullah Riyadh will have to repeat their own performances of recent past if Bangladesh are to win the series.
Players like Imrul Kayes, Sabbir Rahman, Soumya Sarkar, new pace sensation Mushtafizur Rahman and even the young Mehdi Hasan Meraj would be grabbing this opportunity with both hands to show to the world the depth of talent within the Bangladeshi ranks.
Mushfiqur Rahim would no doubt be relying on his batsmen to come good during the series for his bowlers to grab the initiative in order to secure 20 wickets against a side who have always been known to play tough brand of cricket and the hardest team to beat in any format.
The Tigers meanwhile will have to contend with the guiles of Nathan Lyon who wreaked havoc in India recently and the inclusion of leg spinner Mitchell Swepson since they were found wanting against Adil Rashid and Moin Ali during their series against England.
With the prospect of rain coming to play during the course of the series the season ahead with the arrival of the Aussies ought to open the gates of greater success in the days to come.
The forthcoming series against the Aussies will be followed by the series of South Africa.
This season a one off Test match against India and later against the Sri Lankans at home followed by a series against the West Indies shall provide not only the players to enhance their own status as great international players but would also enhance the prospect of improving rankings of the Test side as well.
