DHAKA, Jan 14, 2020 (BSS) – Ruling Awami League’s mayoral candidate of
Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Barrister Sheikh Fazle Noor Taposh today
vowed to turn the city corporation into developed one if he is elected in the
upcoming city polls slated for January 30.

“We will turn Dhaka South City Corporation into a developed city
corporation . . . The Nagar Bhaban office will remain open for 24 hours for
townspeople,” Taposh told a polls campaign in Jhawchar Boro Mosjid Area of
Kamrangirchar, outskirts of the capital, this afternoon.

Barrister Taposh, also former ruling AL lawmaker, sought vote for “Boat”
symbol in the DSCC polls, expressing his firm pledge that Dhaka would be
built as a beautiful as well as a clean city.

“I will be devoted to the people if I am elected as mayor of the city
corporation,” he promised, urging all-out cooperation to build a modern city
corporation in the days to come.

Refuting the allegation of BNP’s mayoral candidate, the AL mayoral
contestant said, “We’re not violating any polls rules . . . Election campaign
is going on following the electoral code of conduct.”

AL Advisory Council Member Mukul Bose, Joint-General Secretary AFM
Bahauddin Nasim, Organising Secretary BM Mozammel Haque, Dhaka South City
unit of AL President Hazi Abul Hasnat, former General Secretary Shahe Alam
