DHAKA, Jan 13, 2020 (BSS) – Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) Mayor Mohammed Sayeed Khokon today paid homage to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman through placing a floral wreath at his portrait at Bangabandhu Memorial Museum in the city’s Dhanmondi-32.
Khokon placed the wreath after becoming a member of the central working committee of ruling Awami League (AL).
Earlier, the DSCC Mayor received the letter of his membership to the AL central working committee from the party general secretary and also Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader at the AL President’s political office at Dhanmondi-3.
AL President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina inducted Sayeed Khokon as a central working committee member of the ruling party with the power bestowed upon her during the last party council held on December 20-21, 2019.
Sayeed Khokon is the son of undivided Dhaka City Corporation’s maiden elected mayor Mohammed Hanif, who was also the president of Dhaka city unit of AL.
