KHULNA, Jan 12, 2020 (BSS)- The Department of Agricultural Extension (DAE)
today distributed special agriculture incentives like seed and fertilisers
among 720 farmers of Dumuria upazila here to mark the birth centenary of
Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
As part of the ‘Mujib Barsho’ (Mujib Year) celebration programme, the
agriculture incentives worth over Taka 12 lakh were distributed under the
Agriculture Incentives Programme-2020 at a function held on Dumuria Upazila
Parishad premises to assist the beneficiary farmers of all 14 unions under
the upazila.
Former Livestock and Fisheries minister Narayan Chandra Chanda, MP,
distributed the incentives as the chief guest with Dumuria Agricultural
Officer Agriculturist Md Mosaddek Hossain in the chair.
Acting General Secretary of Dumuria Upazila AL Shahnewaz Hossain Jowardar,
local AL leaders, officials of local government bodies, farmers were present,
among others, in the function.
The chief guest discussed about the objectives of incentive distribution,
allocated by the government, to assist small and marginal male and female
farmers of the upazila for cultivating crops.
