Shakil, Sohel shares 3rd slot in Mumbai Mayor Chess
DHAKA, June 7, 2018 (BSS)- IM Abu Sufian Shakil and CM Sohel Chowdhury sharing 3rd position along with other 20 players with 4 points out of 6 games in the the 11th Mumbai Mayor’s Cup International Chess tournament now being held in Mumbai, India.
After 5th round games GM Ziaur Rahamn and Anisuzzaman Jewel earned 3.5 points each, CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh, Jamal Uddin, Abzid Rahman and Mezanur Rahman earned 3 points each.
Shahnaz Mohammad Faruque bagged 2.5 points, Avik Sarker, Tipu Sultan, Arifuzzaman Arif, Protiva Talukder and Kazi ZArin Tasnim earned 2 points each, Tahsin Tajwar Zia, Kazi Mahbub Afzal, Sazzad Kishor, Mohammad Hasan, Shahidul Islam, and Ahmed Walijah bagged 1.5 points.
In 6th round games held on Wednesday evening IM Shakil split points with with Samant Aditya of India, GM Zia beat Joshi Abhijeet of India, CM Sohel Behere Ravi of India, Jewel beat Abhay Bandewar of India, CM Chanchal beat Aneek Das of India, Abzid lost to Sankalp Gupta of India, Shahnaz lost to Abhishek A of India.
Jamal beat Arif, Mezan beat Gavi Siddayya of India, Avik split points with Aryan Ranjan of India, Tahsin lost to Patil Priyanshu of India, Hasan lost to Kadam Nikhil of India, Sazzad lost to Joglekar Abhijit of India, Protiva drew with Satvik Sharma of India, Afzal lso to Potwad Aniruddah of India, Shahid lost to Jain Adi of India, Zarin beat Deodhar Vrushali Umesh of India, Feroz lost to Sunil Vaidya of India and Walijah beat Wadifah.
