SYLHET, Jan 08, 2020 – (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today offered ‘ziarat’ at the shrines of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) and Hazrat Shah Paran (RA) here today.
The President, who earlier arrived here on daylong visit to attend the third convocation of Shahjalal University of Science and Technology (SUST), first went to two shrines in the divisional city.
The head of the state visited the mazar of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA) at about 1:20 pm and subsequently at the mazar of Hazrat Shah Paran (RA) at about 1:54 pm.
Abdul Hamid spent some time at two shrines by offering fateha and munajat. Political leaders and high officials of local administration and secretaries concerned to the President accompanied him there.
Earlier, the helicopter, carrying the President, arrived at the helipad of the Osmani International Airport here at about 12:32 pm where he was received by political leaders and the representatives of the divisional and local administration.
Ruling Awami League Organizing Secretary Shafiul Alam Chowdhury Nadel, former Mayor of Sylhet City Corporation and AL Central Committee Member Badruddin Ahmed Kamran, former AL Organizing Secretary Mejabhuddin Siraj, District AL President Advocate Lutfor Rahman and city AL President Masuk Uddin Ahmed, among others, were present there.
