Mahmudullah likely to return in BBPL tomorrow
DHAKA, Jan 6, 2020 (BSS) – Mahmudullah Riyad is likely to return to Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) tomorrow (Tuesday) when his side Chattogram Challengers will take on Rajshahi Royals in a high-voltage clash at the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium.
Mahmudullah, the captain of the Chattogram, got the nod from the national team physio Julian Calefato to get back to the competitive cricket, said BCB chief physician Dr. Devashis.
“From our part, there is no reservation [about his decision to get back to cricket], Dr. Chowdhury said. “Physio also gave him the nod. So he can play but it’s up to him now and his team now.”
The all-rounder sustained a hamstring injury during Bangladesh’s second Test against India, their first pink-ball Test in Kolkata. He subsequently missed the first three matches of the BBPL.
He though made a comeback and played three matches, he again felt pain and withdrew him. However if everything is okay, he will get down to the field tomorrow in a match, in which Chris Gayle will also be the part of Chattogram team.
