Mild heat wave sweeping over parts of country

DHAKA, June 07, 2018 (BSS)-A mild heat wave is sweeping over the regions
of Rajshahi, Pabna, Satkhira, Jashore and Chuadanga and it may continue.

“Light to moderate rain or thundershowers accompanied by temporary gusty
wind and lightning flashes are likely to occur at a few places over Rajshahi,
Rangpur, Mymensingh, Dhaka, Chattogram and Sylhet in 24 hours as of 9 am
tomorrow,” said a met bulletin issued this morning here.

Moreover, one or two places over Khulna and Barishal divisions may see
moderately heavy falls in the next 24 hours commencing 9 am today, the
bulletin added.

Southwest monsoon has set on over Chattogram, Sylhet, Mymensingh and
Dhaka divisions as Conditions are favorable for further advancement of
southwest monsoon.

A low pressure area is likely to form over North Bay while westerly low
lies over Bihar and adjoining area extending its trough to Northwest Bay
during next 24 hours.

Day and night temperature may remain nearly unchanged over the country.

The maximum temperature was recorded 37.0 degrees Celsius yesterday at
Rajshahi and today’s minimum temperature recorded 24.4 degrees Celsius at
Netrokona in Mymensingh division.

The highest rainfall in the last 24 hours as of 6 am today was recorded
50 mm at Netrokona in Mymensingh division.

The sun sets at 6.44 pm today and rises at 5.10 am tomorrow in the
capital.
