President for exploring trade-investment potentials in Bhutan

DHAKA, Jan 2, 2020 – (BSS) – President M Abdul Hamid today asked newly appointed Bangladesh Ambassador to Bhutan AKM Shahidul Karim to explore trade and investment potentials in Bhutan as the latter paid a courtesy call on him at Bangabhaban.

Noting that Bangladesh and Bhutan have many potentials to explore, the President suggested the envoy to utilize the potential sectors in the greater interest of the country, his Press Secretary Mohammad Joynal Abedin told newsmen.

Abdul Hamid recalled the excellent bilateral tie of Bangladesh with Bhutan saying, “Since the Independence, Bangladesh has been maintaining a very good relation with Bhutan . . . And the relation is strengthening day by day”.

The President hoped that the tie would reach a new height in days to come.

Abdul Hamid also assured of providing necessary cooperation to him as Ambassador Shahidul sought all-out supports from him in discharging duties.

Secretaries concerned to the President, among others, were present there.
