Razzaque urges BNP leaders to play role for peaceful polls

TANGAIL, Dec 28, 2019 (BSS) – Agriculture Minister Dr Mohammad Abdur Razzaque today called upon the leaders of BNP to play its due role for holding fair and neutral elections of Dhaka City Corporations slated for January 30 next.

“BNP has responsibility to hold the upcoming Elections to Dhaka North City Corporation and Dhaka South City Corporation in a free, fair and neutral manner. I request BNP-leaders to play role in this regard,” he said.

He was addressing the inaugural session of 2-day reunion programme of Kumudini Mohila College as the chief guest marking its diamond anniversary here.

Bangladesh, he said, is now on the highway of development under the dynamic leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. An economic zone will be established soon in Tangail as part of the development spree of the country, he added.

Tangail Deputy Commissioner Shahidul Islam presided over the programme while State Minister for Information Dr Murad Hasan, lawmakers Sanowar Hossain, Tanvir Hasan Soto Monir and Momota Hena Lovely (reserved seats for women) were present as the special guests, among others, on the occasion.
