Shakil shares 3rd slot in Mumbai Mayor Chess

DHAKA, June 6, 2018 (BSS)- IM Abu Sufian Shakil is sharing the third position along with other 24 players with 3.5 points out of 5 games after the 5th round games of the 11th Mumbai Mayor’s Cup International Chess Tournament now being held at Mumbai in India.

After the 5th round games, CM Sohel Chowdhury and Abzid Rahman earned 3 points each, GM Ziaur Rahman, Anisuzzaman Jewel and Shahnaz Mohammad Faruque earned 2.5 points each, CM Chanchal Kumer Ghosh, Jamal Uddin, Tipu Sultan, Mezanur Rahman and Arifuzzaman Arif earned 2 points each, Avik Sarker, Tahsin Tajwar Zia, Kazi Mahbub Afzal, Sazzad Kishor, Mohammad Hasan, Shahidul Islam and Protiva Talukder secured 1.5 points apiece.

In the day’s 5th round games were held today (Wednesday),IM Shakil split point with Pruijssers Roeland of Netherlands, GM Zia lost to Priyanka of India, CM Sohel drew with Keshav Kothari of India, Jewel lost to Nguyen Phuoc Tam of India, CM Chanchal lost to Ayushh Ravikumar of India, Abzid beat Tipu Sultan, Jamal lost to Behere Ravi of India, Arif drew with S G Joshi of India.

Avik lost to Ilamparthi of India, Shahnaz beat Bhuta Hriday of India, Hasan lost to Konatham Snehil of India, Tahsin drew with Mckenzie Lionel Joseph of India, Sazzad drew with Aryan Ranjan of India, Afzal drew with Satvik Sharma of India and Mezan beat Feroz Kabir, Protiva beat Ahmed Walijah and Shahid split point with Joglekar Abhijit of India.
