DMP takes ‘foolproof’ security for Dhaka int’l trade fair
DHAKA, Dec 24, 2019 (BSS) -Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has informed that they have made all required arrangements to enforce a stringent security vigil as the month-long Dhaka International Trade Fair, 2020 is set to begin in the capital on January 1.
The information came up at a co-ordination meeting held at DMP headquarters in the city today regarding security, law and order and traffic management of the upcoming 25th international trade fair.
DMP have taken a tight and coordinated security arrangement for foolproof security in and around of the trade fair venue deploying a large number of police force, DMP sources said.
In the meeting, it is informed that in coordination with other law enforcement agencies, police would keep an eye on the venue and “everyone will have to pass through metal detectors and archways there”.
Hawkers and baggers would be debarred from roaming around the venue which would be also brought under closed circuit camera televisions.
The DMP would install a makeshift control room, lost and found centre, medical centre and four help desks to facilitate visitors while several teams of police both in uniform and plain cloth will discharge their duties at the venue round the clock throughout the month.
A total of ten watch towers will be set up for the security purpose of the fair and the whole area of the venue will be screened by bomb-disposal team and swept through the dog squad.
In the fair, every stall must have the fire-extinguish system and there will be installed a sub-station of fire service inside the area for the safety of the people.
Plying motorcycle on the fair premises is completely prohibited and all concerned fair personnel are allowed to play music or sound in low volume inside the fair instead of high volume.
The food courts of the fair must have to show the price list of their foods all the time and if they (food court authorities) don’t abide by the order then they will be punished through mobile court in the fair.
Besides, a total of two complain box will be installed in the convenient places at the fair for the visitors.
The fair is scheduled to continue till January 31.
