BIWTC-SPECIAL-SERVICE
BIWTC Eid special services from June 13
DHAKA, June 5, 2018 (BSS) – Bangladesh Inland Water Transport Corporation
(BIWTC) will start 12-day special steamer and ferry services on Dhaka-
Chandpur-Barisal-Khulna on June 13 on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.
The special service will continue till June 24, said a press release.
Modern luxurious steamer MV Bangalee and Modhumoti along with traditional
paddle steamer PS Ostrich, PS Lepcha, PS Turn and PS Mahmud will be on the
fleet of the service.
Special sea-trucks and ships will be available for island districts while
two coastal ships MV Monirul Huq and MV Baro-Awlia of BIWTC will operate
passenger services from Chittagong.
Special services will also be available besides, sea-truck at Barisal-
Mojuchowdhuryhat, Monpura-Shashiganj, Hatiya-Boyarchar, Charchenga-Boyarchar
and Ilisha- Mojuchowdhuryhat.
Vacation of all officials, staff and employees of BIWTC operational
sector has been canceled.
