DHAKA, Dec 10, 2019 (BSS)- Cumilla Warriors will leave no stone unturned
to make their presence in the Bangabandhu Bangladesh Premier League (BBPL) obvious when they take on Rangpur Rangers, considered as favourite team in
the tournament, today.

The match begins from 6.30 pm.

Even though Cumilla, a team sponsored by Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB),
did not get all their players for the practice together, they are hoping for
the best.

Most of the Cumilla players were part of Bangladesh Under-23 team which
played the South Asian Games and won the gold for the country, beating Sri
Lanka U23 by seven wickets in the final.

The gold winner players however returned to country today and would play
the first match for Cumilla tomorrow.

“We have four players in SA Games, who won gold. Yes, we couldn’t practice
together but since they have been in cricket, it is good for us,” Cumilla
pace bowler Al Amin Hossain said here today.

“They won the gold and hence they will be confident about their game.
Meanwhile all of our foreign players have landed in Dhaka. We have got the
players like Dawid Malan, Dasun Shanaka and Mujeeb Ur Rahman. I think we got
well balanced team.”

Al Amin said that like other teams, their target is to lift the trophy.

“Target is to be champions and as I said earlier, we got well balanced
team. So we have the ingredients to be champions,” he said.

The fast bowler who himself showed tremendous performance during the
three-match T20 series against India last month believes their opponent
Rangpur Rangers is also a good team.

“They are strong team and we are expecting a competitive game.”

Rangpur Rangers who unveiled their team jersey in a programme today
announced Afghanistan explosive batsman Mohammad Nabi as their captain.

Nabi said because of being a regular visitor in Bangladesh and playing
here in domestic cricket, he knows the cricketers here well.

“So the local players are not unknown to me. What we have to do is to put
our best in the ground,” Nabi said.

“I think we also got a well balanced team, which has the ability to fire
against any opponents.” The main concern for Rangpur Rangers would be the
form of their premier fast bowler Mustafizur Rahman. Popularly called the
Cutter Master , he wasn’t just up to the mark in the recent days and leaked
runs in abundance.

Nabi expected that an experienced bowler like Mustafizur Rahman could turn
the game as the class is permanent while form is temporary.

“He is an experienced bowler and he knows his game well. I am not concerned
with his form. I know when it matters, he will deliver.”
