NARSINGDI, Dec 10, 2019 (BSS) – The government has set a target to procure
4153 tonnes of Aman paddy directly from the farmers during the current Aman
season here.
The district food control office sources said the procurement of Aman
paddy in the district started on November 20 and it will continue till 28
February.
They said the paddy is being procured at Tk 26 per kilogram to benefit
farmers as the present market price of paddy is Tk 18 to 20 per kilogram.
The upazila-wise paddy procurement target is – 332 tonnes in Sader
upazila, 369 in Polash, 989 in Shibpur, 1062 in Monohardi, 592 in Belabo and
809 tonnes in Raipura upazila.
