RAJSHAHI, Dec 10, 2019 (BSS)- Ten women get ‘Best Joyeeta Reception’ as recognition of attaining their success in different fields after overcoming difficulties and challenges in the city yesterday.
The reception were given to the successful women-Hasiba Khatun Jaheda, Kaniz Fatema, Amina Haque, Lota Nasrin, Selina Begum, Hasiba Khatun Jaheda, Sabina Khatun, Amina Haque, Jannatun Nessa and Selina Begum — in five different categories like economics, education and employment, successful mother, prevention of repression and social development sectors in a function.
Of them, five are from the city-level and five others from district-level. They were given certificates, crests and reception-gifts.
District administration and the Department of Women Affairs jointly arranged the reception-giving ceremony under the programme of ‘Joyeeta Searching Bangladesh’ at the conference hall of Human Resource Development Training Centre (HRDTC) to mark the ‘Begum Rokeya Day’ 2019 in Rajshahi city yesterday evening.
Advocate Adiba Anjum Mita, MP, and former State Minister Prof Zinatunnessa Talukder attended and addressed the ceremony as chief and special guests respectively with Deputy Commissioner Hamidul Haque in the chair.
Social Worker Shaheen Akter Rainy, local unit Chairman of Jatiya Mohila Sangstha Morjina Parveen, Deputy Director of Department of Women Affairs Shobnom Shirin and HRDTC Assistant Director Azgar Ali Khan also spoke on the occasion.
Lawmaker Adiba Anjum said government has taken various initiatives to create women-friendly atmosphere in the country so that they can play an important role for the country’s socioeconomic development.
Bangladesh has achieved tremendous success in women development and empowerment to become a model in the world. The womenfolk have proved their abilities, expertise and efficiency in every field of our national life.
The Joyeeta award will encourage women to face various challenges more confidently and become role models for the society.
Joyeeta Onneshone Bangladesh – an initiative introduced in 2009 by the government — has had a tremendous impact on the society.
