52nd DU convocation on Monday

DHAKA, Dec 7, 2019 (BSS) – Dhaka University (DU), the oldest university of Bangladesh, is all prepared to hold its 52nd convocation with the participation of 20,796 graduates on its campus in the city on Monday.

President Abdul Hamid, also the Chancellor of the university, will preside over the gala event at the central playground.

Nobel laureate in physics Professor Dr Takaaki Kajita, also director of the Institute for Cosmic Ray Research of Tokyo University in Japan, will attend as the convocation speaker.

On the occasion, a press briefing was held at Abdul Matin Virtual Classroom adjacent to the Vice-Chancellor’s (VC) office today.

The convocation will begin at 11.30am. Graduates can collect their certificates after completion of the convocation ceremony.

DU affiliated seven colleges will participate in the convocation ceremony from two venues — Dhaka College and Eden Mohila College– through video conferencing.

While speaking at the press conference, DU Vice-Chancellor Professor Dr Md Akhtaruzzaman has sought cooperation of all to make the convocation a success.
