Bangladesh play 1-1 draw with Maldives in SAG Football

KATHMANDU, Dec 3, 2019 (BSS)- Despite taking lead, Bangladesh Olympic
football lost valuable point as they were forced to play a 1-1 goal draw by
Maldives in their second match of the ongoing 13th South Asian Games held on
Monday at Dasarath Rangasala Stadium here.

With this draw, Bangladesh’s reach semifinal becomes very hard.

In the day’s match, Bangladesh took lead through a Maldives’ suicidal
goal in the 30th minute but Maldives fought back in the match as Mahude
Hossain scored for his team in the 70th minute of the match.

Bangladesh however tried hard to take further lead but failed to score
goal due to Maldives’ packed defence.

Bangladesh will play their third match against Sri Lanka on December 5
and play their last match against host Nepal on December 8.

The top two teams will lock horn in the final scheduled to be held on
December 10 at the same venue.

Earlier, Bangladesh suffered a shocking solitary goal defeat to Bhutan in
their opening match.
