CHATTOGRAM, Dec 2, 2019 (BSS)- A total of eight dwelling houses were gutted in a fire that broke out at Zaliaghata village of Banskhali upazila of the district today.
Liton Boisnob, station officer of Banskhali Fire Service and Civil Defense, said the fire originated from an electric short-circuit at a dwelling house in the area around 2.45 am and quickly engulfed the adjacent houses.
Two firefighting units from Banskhali areas rushed to the spot and brought the flame under control around 6.12 am.
Victim Farid Alam and local fire service official claimed that the fire damaged properties worth about Taka four lakh, Farid added.
