Yeafesh asks students to help build Sonar Bangla

DHAKA, Nov 30, 2019 (BSS) – Science and Technology Minister Architect Yeafesh Osman today urged the university students to materialize the Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s dream of building ‘Sonar Bangla’.

“You are born to fulfill the dream of 30 lac martyrs. You have a lot of responsibilities. Your foremost priority is to fulfill Bangabandhu’s dream- building Sonar Bangla,” he made the comments today while addressing as chief guest the ‘Daffodil Elec Tel Carnival-2019’ at Swadhinota Auditorium of Daffodil International University.

Terming knowledge as the best asset of human beings, the minister said “Knowledge likens to flowing water in the river. It increases through exercise, but paucity of exercise decreases knowledge. So, we should continue the practice of knowledge”.

He praised the carnival, stating this carnival will play a role to increase knowledge of students. So this kind of carnival should be frequently arranged, he added.

Vice-Chancellor of DIU Professor Dr. Yousuf Mahbubul Islam presided over the meeting while Managing Director of Hi-Tech Park Authority Hosne Ara Begum and Director of Energypac Engineer Rezwanul Kabir were present as special guests.

Hosne Ara Begum said, this is time to learn practically. Now it is very tough to survive by gathering knowledge from only books, she said adding that everyone should learn from outside classrooms also.

Engineer Rezwanul Kabir asked the students to learn from other branches of knowledge to make one’s life meaningful.

The daylong carnival included idea contest, project showcasing, job fair, seminar and workshop on industry and career, science Olympiad, panel discussion, prize giving and cultural program.
